Eqraft® opens brand new head office in Emmeloord

After a few years of continuous growth, machine builder Eqraft decided they needed a new headquarters to match their ambitions. On February 2nd and 5th, the tech company celebrated the grand opening of its brand-new location, covering a whopping 6,600 square meters and equipped with all modern conveniences.

Eqraft designs and builds processing lines and factories for potatoes, onions and bulk products worldwide. The smart factories contribute to efficient, reliable and future-proof agribusinesses. In recent years, the company has completed numerous projects in automatic sorting, storage, weighing and packaging lines, both close to home and abroad. Furthermore, the Eqraft family grew from 20 to 100 people. In other words: the machine builder was ready for a new location in line with their ambitions.

The new building was inaugurated with a bang on Friday, February 2 by the entire Eqraft team, family, friends, local residents, press and Mayor De Groot of the Municipality of Noordoostpolder (the area where Eqraft is located). On Monday, February 5, clients and suppliers were welcome to tour the new headquarters, see the machines in construction and raise a glass to a new start. In a welcome speech, Managing Director Marcel Kampes looked back on the past years. ‘It’s been an exciting five years, in which we have grown considerably and laid a solid foundation for the coming decades. I’m very happy to celebrate that with you all today in this new building,’ he said. Kampes also recounted the search for a new home for Eqraft. ‘At our previous location, we were bursting at the seams. Last summer we found this property on a real estate listings website and only three weeks later we were eating our first lunch in the cafeteria.’

Eqraft's new home on Werktuigenweg in Emmeloord was completed in 2022 according to the latest sustainability standards. The building features modern workstations and meeting rooms, a warehouse, and an assembly and shipping area. The new headquarters also boasts 21 overhead doors, cranes with different lifting capacities, LED lighting and underfloor heating. In the office space of about 1,000 square meters, each team will have its own space.

Mayor De Groot of the Municipality of Noordoostpolder (an area known as the epicenter of the Dutch agri industry) was also present to officially open the premises. He looked back at Eqraft’s corporate history, the foundations for which were laid forty years ago. He also said a few words about the machine builder’s corporate culture. ‘At Eqraft, the bar is high for every single team member. The preconditions for Eqraft’s success are in everyone's DNA: connection, ambition, thinking from the customer’s perspective and staying solution-oriented. For Eqraft, boundaries, in whatever form, don’t really exist. A useful mentality to have for a company that has clients all over the globe.’
